Purpose
To define the obligations for
Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students who are under MUSC financial
support.
Statements
HDR students who are on MUSC
financial support in the form of tuition fees waiver and monthly stipend are
required to contribute 10 hours per week in academic teaching training and research
training.
Academic teaching training includes
contact hours in conducting tutorials, demonstrations and consultation as
well as non-contact hours in preparatory work and providing students’
evaluation and feedback.
Research training includes
contribution related to research, other than the student’s own research
project such as conducting or facilitating experiments, lab maintenance,
field trips, collection of data, interviewing, data entry and writing of
reports. The nature of research training may differ from one school to
another.
