Important Information for Exchange Students - Student Pass Application Process

All exchange students are required to hold a student pass for the duration of their stay in Malaysia.
The following information is provided to students to ensure they are fully aware of the timelines involved in obtaining the student pass.
These timelines are to be strictly adhered to by students.

The following documents are required for an application for a student pass:

1. 6 non-returnable passport-size colour photos (measuring 3.5cm x 5cm. The size of your head in the photo should be 2.5cm x 3cm)
2. Three (3) sets of full and clear photo-copies of all pages of your passport (including blank pages) only on A4 size paper (a maximum of 2 passport pages condensed into 1 A4 size paper. No enlargement is allowed). Scanned copies are not acceptable. Please ensure passports have a validity period of more than one year failing which, you are advised to apply for a new passport.

Upon approval of the student pass by the Malaysian immigration authorities, a student pass approval letter will be sent to you by the Sunway campus.

You must bring along this letter in order to enter Malaysia as an exchange student.

You must have a valid student pass by the first day of the commencement of your exchange program, failing which you will not be permitted to enrol at the Sunway campus.

Upon arrival in Malaysia, you are required to hand in your passport to the International Students Services Unit (ISSU) for endorsement of your student pass.
