  • As one of the eight Monash campuses, Monash Malaysia is subject to Monash University for all matters related to academic development, teaching and support. The Monash University Act, rules and regulations are observed to ensure that the academic quality expected of Monash University is met.

  • The courses are conducted under the auspices of the faculties of Monash University. Hence, instruction and experience received in all course work are similar to that received by students studying in Australia.

  • All courses offered at the Malaysia campus are recognised by the Malaysian Government as the university has been accorded interim accreditation on all its courses.

  • Monash University has 8 campuses worldwide. There are 6 in Australia, 1 in South Africa and 1 in Malaysia. There are more than 50,000 students studying at these campuses. Monash also operates a centre in Prato, Italy and has with links with over 100 institutions throughout America, Asia and Europe.
  • The campus in Malaysia is a diverse and multicultural institution boasting more than 3,300 students, with international students from 40 different countries making up 25 percent of the student population.
  • Once part of the Monash family, students are able to transfer to any one of the eight campuses that offer their particular course to complete their studies.
  • Students can take advantage of the Monash Study Abroad program for up to two semesters at another campus while paying the home campus tuition fees.

  1. Strategically located in a safe township

  • Students at the campus have easy access to the modern amenities of Bandar Sunway such as the shopping mall, medical centre, banks, restaurants, shops, water park, extreme park, and others.
  • Security is maintained by a force of security personnel who work closely with local police.
  • The university is about 40 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur, the capital city. Modern highways allow for ease of travel to different parts of the city.
  1. Technologically advanced facilities

  • The current campus houses appropriate facilities for high quality education. There are 11 fully equipped science labs including a state of the art physical containment lab (PC2) for experimentation into genetic manipulation of DNA. There are 10 specialised Engineering labs, 5 multimedia-equipped lecture theatres, and a 58,000 sq. ft. library holding 130,000 items.
  • There a wide range of off-campus sports facilities available to students including an Olympic size swimming pool, indoor badminton courts, tennis courts, a multipurpose football field and basketball courts.

  • International employers recognise the potential of Monash graduates and many companies actively recruit on-campus - companies such as: PricewaterhouseCoopers, OCBC Bank, HSBC Bank, Accenture and more.
  • A recent survey of the 2006 graduates found that only 9% were not employed after 3 months. 61% found employment after two months.

  • Students can obtain the same high standard education at the Malaysian campus as the other campuses in Australia thus saving on tuition costs.

  1. New 12-acre state-of-the-art campus in 2007.

  • The university has begun moving into a new new purpose-built campus.
  • Estimated to cost about RM200 million, the new campus is being developed in two phases over a land area of 12 acres, located across from the university’s present facility in Bandar Sunway. The new campus will have a built up area of more than 66,000 square metres.
  • The first phase will see the construction of six buildings able to accommodate between 4,500 - 5,000 students and some 500 staff. In phase two, the university's capacity will be increased to between 8,000 to 10,000 students.
  • The buildings are designed around an oval-shaped three-storey library and learning commons equipped with facilities for student interaction and IT facilities. This area will be the heart of the campus.
