Australian Universities International Alumni Convention 2008 (AUIAC), Singapore, 10-13 June 2008

 Held once every couple of years, this international event attracts Australian alumni from around the Asia Pacific region. The congregation of alumni from many countries in the Singapore Suntec Convention Centre was indeed a remarkable sight. The 3 day event has a packed itinerary with talks by various industry experts and professionals, networking dinners and even a fellowship night at the Singapore Night Safari. The Monash University presence this year was quite outstanding with the Chancellor, Dr. Alan Finkel being one of the speakers. The other speakers were Mr. John Kearsey (Divisional Director of Donor, Alumni & Community Relations), Mr. David Chan (Past President, Hong Kong chapter alumni) and Ms. Carol Yip (President, Malaysia chapter alumni). The convention was also attended by Monash University Sunway campus’ Pro-Vice Chancellor & President, Professor Robin Pollard. The Malaysian chapter saw six alumni taking time off from work to represent the chapter and attend this convention. The networking opportunities were tremendous and many new relationships were forged across various Australian universities and alumni.
