Monash University to offer new postgraduate business degree

The School of Business at Monash University’s campus in Malaysia is broadening its academic portfolio by introducing the Master of International Business degree.

Building on the popularity of its current undergraduate programs, the School is moving on to the next level of development after receiving many enquiries for graduate degrees.

“The opportunity exists for a program which prepares its graduates to be more competitive in the global marketplace and the Master of International Business is judged to be most suitable to meet such a need,” explained Professor Ron Edwards, Head of the School of Business at the Sunway campus.

The School of Business currently enjoys a strong position in its undergraduate student enrolment with over 1150 students.

With shifting consumer trends, legislative changes and competition, the School felt the need to bridge the gap between the theory and the actual practice of internationalisation.

Business education is in high demand in Malaysia as it is worldwide. Monash graduates hold senior positions across Malaysian industry and government where their leadership offers immediate and long term value for their organisations.

The large Monash alumni in Malaysia, reportedly the largest of any foreign university, places the School in a good position to offer the Master of International Business.

Professor Edwards further elaborated, “Our lecturers are well qualified in the area of International Business and have many years experience researching and teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Many have extensive corporate experience and are experts in their fields.”

“The crucial role of international business in Malaysia and the specific advantages of the Master of International Business degree make it very relevant to corporate professionals,” he added.
