Employment & Career Development

For Students

The Employment and Career Development unit assists Monash students with a variety of services in relation to employment and career development, which include the following:-

  • Search for jobs (graduate employment, industrial training opportunities, part-time/casual work, etc.) An on-line Job Portal is currently being developed and usage of this portal will be informed soon!! Please refer to this webpage in the near future!!
  • Employer Information Sessions on Campus – Employer Information Session on campus provide students with a convenient opportunity to meet and interact with potential graduate employers. Held on Tuesdays (12-2pm) and on Fridays (2-4pm), these sessions allow students to meet employers face-to-face, hear first hand about graduate employment and other opportunities, receive important tips on application procedures, closing dates and selection processes, obtain key insights into the organisation, collect relevant handouts, opportunity to network and ask questions. Students who are interested to attend these information sessions must register with the Student Community Services unit
  • Employer On-Campus Recruitment / Interview Sessions – Look out on this website from time to time as we announce which employer will be on campus to conduct interview sessions! Do come prepared with your resume, cover letter and appropriate supporting documents. Be prepared for the interview!
  • Job Seekers’ Workshops – various topics will be covered under these workshops which include resume and cover letter preparation, interview skills workshop, leadership building sessions, enhancing and sharpening soft skills workshop, networking sessions, presentation skills workshop, etc.
  • Organisation of Annual Career Fairs – This is a free event and is open to all students from Year 1 to Final Year students. A great event to meet your future boss or just to find out about various industries first hand. Information on industrial training opportunities is also available at the fair. The annual career fair is typically held each year in April. The date of the next career fair will be available soon
  • Resume and Cover Letter checking – Students may have their resumes or cover letters for employment checked at the Student Community Services unit. Please make an appointment with the appropriate officers

The Employment and Career Development unit can assist you to recruit high quality Monash students and graduate candidates for part and full time vacancies, including graduate programs, vacation employment and industrial training opportunities.

Employers are encouraged to fully utilise our full range of services and our staff are pleased to discuss with you the effective ways for your organisation to connect with Monash students and graduates.

Advertising job vacancies will be made easier once our on-line Job Portal is fully functional in the near future. Please contact us for more details.

Raise your organisation’s profile by participating in various campus recruitment activities such as career fairs, Employer Information Sessions, On-campus recruitment and interview sessions, etc.

Students value advice they receive directly from employers, so engage with our students by presenting a Job Seeker’s Workshop on campus, to help equip them with essential job search skills , application and interview know-how.
