Monash in collaboration with Jinnyboytv, presents the MyMonash Moments Film contest.

Film a 3.00 minute video of your Monash moment and upload it online.  Your video will be uploaded to the Monash University Sunway campus YouTube™ channel and you will stand a chance to win an attractive prize. Contest is open to all Monash students only from 1 May - 31 May 2012.

How to participate:

Step 1: Attend a Film-making Workshop hosted by Reuben Kang & Jin Lim from jinnyboytv

Date : 27 April 2012 (Friday)

Time : 1.30pm - 2.30pm

Venue : Plenary Theatre


This workshop would showcase jinnyboytv shortfilms and videos as well as cover the following topics;

  • Independent filmmaking production process
  • Filming on a budget
  • Writing interesting scripts
  • Choosing your actors
  • Shooting
  • Post Production


Step 2: Minute your Moment

Once you are inspired, get filming! All short-films must be original, must be a maximum of 3.00 minutes long and must comply with all YouTube™ and legal requirements and guidelines. Don't forget to read the contest terms and conditions!


Step 3: Submit your short-film

All short-films must be submitted by 11.59pm on May 31, 2012. Monash will then upload the short-films onto the Monash YouTube™ channel. Participants will receive a notification via their registed email once their short-film has been uploaded.

Final Selection (Judging Criteria)

A panel of judges consisting of Jin Lim and Reuben Kang of jinnyboytv and selected members of the campus will determine the award winners based on originality, creativity, clear expression of ideas and production value. 


Entry Criteria

To be eligible for the Contest, submissions must:

  1. be original works, produced specifically for this Contest;

  2. be in the English Language OR have English subtitles.

  3. include a title;

  4. not contain any material which might infringe the intellectual property rights or any other rights of third parties;

  5. be in digital format;

  6. not include explicit material such as harsh/coarse/abusive language, alcohol, drugs, sex, nudity or violence and other subjects as outlined in the Prohibited Student Activities Guidelines;

  7. not contain the name, image, likeness or voice of any person (including the Participant) unless that person (and, if any other person is under 18 years of age, their parent or guardian) has signed the Consent Form provided herein.

Runner-up - RM 2000 cash & certificate of participation

Second runner-up - RM 1000 cash & certificate of participation
