Traffic Engineering and Management Workshop 2001

This 2-day workshop is presented by the Institute of Transport Studies, a joint venture between Australia’s leading university transport groups at Monash University and the University of Sydney.  It is proudly organised by Monash University Malaysia.

Traffic Engineering and Management

The Workshop focuses on the fundamentals of traffic engineering and management and identifies current issues in the field, including both local street and arterial road planning and design.

These workshops have been offered to the traffic and engineering profession since 1979.  They offer the opportunity for people working in the traffic engineering profession to be brought up to date with new developments and to gain the basic skills and understanding required by traffic professionals.

Each workshop is designed for practising traffic professionals.  If you are new to the field and wish to have some formal exposure to the fundamentals or if you have been practising for some time and wish to undertake a refresher and be exposed to state of the art developments and technology, then this workshop should be part of your professional development program.  People from local government, State and Federal road and traffic agencies, private highway concessionaires as well as consultants in traffic engineering and road safety will find this workshop useful and relevant.

Participation in the workshop supports the continuous development requirements of the Institution of Engineers, Australia. All full-time participants will be issued with an attendance certificate.

Scope and Content

This Workshop will provide you with the detailed fundamentals of traffic engineering and management.  The tricks and common pitfalls encountered in traffic engineering practice will be highlighted together with new developments.

Who Should Attend?

The Workshop is targeted at transport professionals working in the private and public sectors.  Consultants, public transport operators, state and local government professionals in the roads and transport portfolios will find it of value.  Members of the general public with an interest in transport are also invited to attend, as the contents of presentation will be informative.
