Monash graduate receives prestigious scholarship from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong
Low Ley Hian did Monash proud recently by being the only student from a private education institution to receive a scholarship from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin in Istana Negara recently. Ley Hian, one of only 12 outstanding students who were presented with scholarships, will pursue his doctorate in neuroscience at the University of Melbourne which will take three and a half years.

Engineering students recognised for outstanding final year projects
 Monash University recently awarded 13 engineering students for their outstanding final year projects. The three winners of the Best Final Year Project Award were Ong Boon Siong for Mechanical Engineering, Srinivasan Aravinthan for Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering and Daniel Looi Ming Yew for Mechatronics Engineering. Each received RM250 and a certificate.

New Pro Vice-Chancellor at Monash University
Professor Robin Pollard is the new Pro Vice-Chancellor and President ( Malaysia) of the Monash University campus in Bandar Sunway. Professor Pollard, who assumed his duties on 23 October, takes over from Professor Merilyn Liddell.
Professor Pollard, was previously the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Professor, University of New England, Australia. Professor Pollard is no stranger to Malaysia, having been the Foundation Professor and Head of School at the campus in the years 1998-2000.
