Phang Koon Tuck
Executive Director
Mr Phang Koon Tuck is the Executive Director
of Monash University Sunway campus with
overall responsibilities for Finance,
Facilities, Security, Occupational Health
and Safety of the University. He also sits
on the MAPCU (Malaysian Association of
Private Colleges and Universities) Governing
Council board as the Deputy Secretary
General.
Prior to his appointment with Monash
University Sunway campus, Mr. Phang Koon
Tuck was the Senior General Manager of Group
Human Resources of the Sunway Group with
over 6,000 employees. He has more than 25
years of working experience in various
management positions in a variety of
businesses.
Mr Phang Koon Tuck had worked in a mining
consultant and general management company
located in Ipoh for about 8 years prior to
joining the Sunway Group as a Manager of its
mining operations in 1982. With the gradual
phasing out of the tin-mining operations in
the mid 80’s, he has been involved in other
various activities of the Sunway Group.
These included the initial earthworks which
prepared the ex-mining land at Bandar Sunway
for the construction of the present
township.
Other responsibilities included heading a
trading company for heavy equipment ( for
construction and quarrying industries)
involved in civil and infrastructure works
and construction of residential and
commercial buildings for both local and
