Taiwan Fellowship

Award details:

  • An economy class roundtrip ticket flying the most direct route will be provided. Tickets will not be provided to recipients who are already in Taiwan, R.O.C.

  • Stipends are granted in the following two categories:

1. Professors, associate professors, research fellows, and associate research   fellows: NT$60,000 (USD$1,850 or thereabouts) each month.

2. Assistant professors, assistant research fellows, and doctoral candidates: NT$50,000 (USD$1,535 or thereabouts) each month.

3. The minimum duration of fellowship is 3 months, and the maximum is 1 year.

- Accident insurance of NT$ 1,000,000 is provided. 

  • Applicant must present confirmation letter from Taiwan University to apply for this fellowship. For eligible universities list, please click here.

  • Fellowship recipients should be foreign professors, associate professors, assistant professors, or doctoral candidates, or research fellows of equivalent level, in  foreign academic/research institutions.

  • Applicants in the fields of social sciences, including studies on Taiwan, cross-Strait relations, Mainland China, the Asia Pacific and Sinology, are particularly welcome.

The selected scientist will be offered remuneration including allowances :

  • Malaysian-born / non-Malaysian scientists and researchers residing abroad

  • Minimum Masters degree in science, technology or engineering discipline

  • Minimum 5 years continuous R & D experience in science, technology or engineering discipline

  • Currently engaged in scientific or engineering R & D work in prioritized fields of research (FOR)

  • Collaborate with STI based industry clusters/agencies/associations in Malaysia (host collaborator)

  • Merit criteria (international reputation/outstanding record/patents/publications, etc)

  • Preference will be given to Malaysia-born scientists and researchers residing abroad

  • Obtain at least a Master degree in science, technology or engineering discipline

  • Have Malaysian collaborator

In addition, the applicant should also meet any additional requirements or eligible criteria set by the Expert Advisory Panels (EAP) of BGM and interested institutions

The selected scientist will be offered remuneration of monthly allowance for the duration of one year whilst conducting R & D work at the institute of higher learning

  • Locally based Malaysia scientist, technologist or engineer

  • At least a Master / Doctoral degree in any science, technology or engineer disciplines

  • Has recently involved in Scientific or Engineering R & D in the Designated Sectors

  • At least 5 years of involvement in R & D of the related field relevant to the propose project.

In addition, the applicant should also meet any additional requirements or eligible criteria set by the Expert Advisory Panels (EAP) of BGM and interested institutions as well as stipulated under the ScienceFund and TechnoFund programme

Up to a maximum of AUD 10,000 from a total pool of AUD 100,000

Cross-disciplinary proposals are encouraged, and applicants must explain the importance/novelty of the project within its field or in terms of the challenges it seeks to address.

  • Applicants on both sides must be a permanent or fixed-term academics staff of Monash University or Masdar Institute.

  • A minimum of one staff should be involved from each side.

  • Applications must be endorsed by either the relevant Department Head or Dean at both institutions.

  • Activities already fully funded via other sources are not eligible for support.

  • Applicants are not allowed to submit more than one application as principal investigators.

  • Has made a major scientific discovery or discoveries which contributed to the enhancement of scientific knowledge,

  • Has made an original, revolutionary and important invention, or

  • Has successfully solved a major technological problem with an economically viable solution.

Strategic Funding Initiative for Joint Research and Education Programmes between Monash University and the University of Warwick

 
Up to a maximum of AUD40,000/GBP20,000
  • Project leads on both sides must be permanent or fixed-term academic staff of Monash University or the University of Warwick. Honorary staffs are not eligible.

  • A minimum of two staff should be involved from each side. 

  • Applications must be endorsed by either the relevant Department Head or Dean at both institutions. 

  • Activities already fully funded via other sources are not eligible for support.

  • Cross-disciplinary proposals are encouraged, and applicants must explain the importance/novelty of the project within its field or in terms of the challenges it seeks to address.

  • Applications must be jointly submitted with a project leader nominated on both sides.
