Research Grants was established in 1999 with the objective of providing
seed funding for new researchers and funding support for ongoing
projects by experienced researchers. With the access to competitive
grants such as the e-ScienceFund from MOSTI, the research grants has
been a seeding source
for projects that will lead to external competitive research grants and
industry research funding.
As of December 2007, the cumulative
research funding is around RM 4.85 million. Staff have also been
successful in receiving competitive research grants from Monash
University Australia, industry research funding and the government of
Malaysia.
