Banking

The Malaysian banking industry is extremely competitive and many major international and local banks can be found in Bandar Sunway and neighbouring Subang Jaya, offering ATM facilities, currency exchange and cash transfer services.

Banking on campus

You’ll find Maybank's MEPS ATM machines on campus, located inside the Maybank @ Monash lounge. You may withdraw or transfer money using the machines.

International students -- opening a bank account

International students need an official letter, which we call a ‘short letter’, from International Student Pass (ISP) Counter 8 at Building C2, Level 1 to open a local bank account.

To request a short letter, you need to fill out a short-letter form (PDF, 0.1 MB). You can complete the paperwork on campus at the Student Services counter.
