Dealing with suicidal thoughts

Call 9-9-9 or seek immediate help from a mental health professional when you hear or see any of these behaviors:

  • Threating to hurt or kill themselves
  • Seeking access to things they can kill themselves with
  • Talking or writing about death, dying or suicide
  • Hopelessness
  • Rage, anger, seeking revenge
  • Acting recklessly or engaging in risky activties
  • Feeling trapped, like there’s no way out
  • Withdrawing from friends, family or society
  • Dramatic changes in mood
  • No reason for living, no sense of purpose in life
