3 Monash University does not accept Pearson Test of English (Academic) Online, TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition, or Cambridge Linguaskill General as satisfying the English entry requirement for any Monash course.
Using MEB for entry into a Monash degree
Once you have successfully completed the Monash English Bridging (MEB) course, you will have met the Monash University English language requirements for all Monash University undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degrees except for:
- Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine
- Postgraduate Diploma in Business and Commerce
- Master of Professional Counselling
Information on using MEB for entry into a PhD, or other research degrees is available in the Graduate Research Handbook (see English Language Proficiency).
It is important to note that the Malaysian Government also sets a minimum English language requirement for each Monash university degree. If your destination degree is a Postgraduate course, a higher language English proficiency test score may be required for entry into your destination course. There are two ways you can deal with this issue:
- Enter the MEB with a IELTS minimum overall score of 6.0 or equivalent; or
- Join MEB with a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent (see Entry Requirements table above) and sit for an IELTS (or equivalent test) once you have completed MEB, and achieve a minimum overall score of 6.0 or equivalent.
