Malaysia student pass (visa) rules require international students to have a health check and Medical and Health Insurance once in Malaysia.
We will advise you on how to proceed with the health check at Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) Panel Clinic, when you first arrive as part of the Student Pass endorsement process.
Please click here for a full list of EMGS panel clinics or hospitals.
You are required to be covered by a locally purchased Medical and Health Insurance. As an international student, you can opt for the Medical Insurance offered by EMGS or purchase the insurance scheme arranged by Monash Malaysia.
We highly recommend the AIG international student insurance package which provides favourable coverage and meets the minimum coverage set out by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia. The package fully covers or contributes toward most hospital charges, including room and board, consultation and surgical fees, intensive care and outpatient services and reimbursement of tuition fees for prolonged illness (but some maximum limits could apply). Information of the coverage, terms and conditions of this policy schedule is available here.
AXA Affin is medical insurance provider appointed by EMGS. The scheme also meets the minimum coverage set out by the Ministry of Education. Information of insurance package and premium as below:
