If you are working, who is your current employer and what is your role?

I am currently attached to Innovare Group as a Client Delivery Executive. My team provides on-boarding and payroll services for 3rd party contractors and to clients across Asia.

Why did you choose Monash Malaysia?

It had been my dream to study at Monash. After a few hits and misses in course selection, I finally decided to settle on ‘Psychology’, one of the toughest courses out there. And where else to pick this up but at Monash Malaysia, a reputable institution that offers world-class Australian education and superior facilities.

While at Monash, what type of opportunities did you participate in?

During my year at Monash, I had the honour of joining Leo Club Omega, a prestigious club famed for giving back to the community. I particularly enjoyed being one of the organising committee involved in event planning and community services, all of which had improved my time and budget management skills and further developed my interpersonal skill. Not to forget all the great company and friendships of students from different disciplines which I would treasure for years to come.

What insights, skills or experience made a difference to your own life or the lives of others around you?

I’ve learnt through my years at Monash that it is important to step out of your comfort zone to the abundant opportunities that were made available and to reach out to people whom I would never have otherwise engaged. Most importantly, I strive to always maintain an open mind, be it in my studies or in my personal endeavour such that I will continue to grow wiser, and more balanced in life as an individual.

What do you love most about your student life at Monash?

I had access to the gym for Yoga and badminton court to stretch my muscles. There are spacious and well equipped study areas for individuals and group study. Not to mention, the close proximity of the university to malls, and hip cafes where I can hang out with my peers whenever we have some free time and need some entertainment! All of which had my spiritual, mental and physical well-being covered.

Outside work or study were you able to build on your interest i.e. volunteering, mentoring other students, other educational pursuit )?

I am an active member of the Leo Club

If you are a graduate, have the experiences you have been talking about above made a difference to the way you approach your work and your career?

Most definitely, although real life can be less forgiving. The most notable experience I took away is probably about courage. Always have the courage to speak up with confidence, even when one is not at one’s best. Courage to move forward, when things don’t work out as expected. And lastly, the courage to explore the unknown when opportunity arises.

What is your goal/dream in life, where are you headed to in the future?

I would love to continue my study at the college in 'Organisational Psychology' to support my career aspiration in the field of Human Resources in the near future.

What is your advice to current Monash Malaysia students?

Be interested, Be Curious and Always be you. And most of all enjoy and make the most of university life whilst you are there!
