“Not Drowning, Waving”
DATE : 22 August 2019
TIME : 4:00 – 5:00 PM
VENUE : Pleanry Theatre
In this technological age we are drowning in data. Good data visualisation helps us to swim, digest the data, and learn about our world. Open source software, powerful open source software, allows us all to become talented quantitative citizens. I’ll talk for a short time about working with open data and open software to make plots that have helped me to understand the world around me, and then open up to questions and discussion. We’d love to hear what you have to say, and to discuss new directions in business analytics and big data.
Professor Dianne Cook is a world leader in data visualisation. She was recently invited to join the prestigious R Foundation. Read more at http://dicook.org/
