LECTURE 1: HIGH DIMENSIONAL TIME SERIES ANALYSIS
It is becoming increasingly common for organizations to collect huge amounts of data over time. Traditional time series methods are not well suited to this new paradigm. This lecture will review some new tools that have been developed to analyse large collections of time series including visualization, anomaly detection and forecasting. The speaker has made this lecture accessible to a non-technical audience.
LECTURE 2: CAREER TALK – “AM I A DATA SCIENTIST?”
The boundaries of our discipline are becoming increasingly blurred. If you've completed a major in business analytics, or econometrics and business statistics, should you be looking at jobs for data scientists? This talk will discuss the similarities and differences between econometrics, statistics, business analytics and data science. Find out about the jobs available for students majoring in any of these disciplines, and what you might need to do to get one.
