Kaveh is currently a Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the School of Business at Monash University Malaysia. Prior to his appointment at Monash University, Kaveh held appointments as Senior Lecturer in Accounting (2018-2021) and Assistant Professor of Accounting (2014-2018) at the University of Malaya and IAUM respectively.

Kaveh has had a wide range of teaching experience at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. Further, he has been supervising more than 30 students at the post-graduate level in the field of Accounting.

He serves as an editorial board member (Management Decision | Emerald Publishing) and active reviewer for journals such as Journal of Intellectual CapitalInternational Journal of Managerial Finance (ABDC-A), Managerial Auditing Journal (ABDC-A), International Journal of Manpower (ABDC-A), Applied Economics (ABDC-A), Social Indicators Research (ABDC-A), International Journal of Emerging Markets, and others.

His research interests are intellectual capital, performance measurement systems, and sustainability accounting. Kaveh has published many articles in outlets in the field such as the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems (ABDC-A), Corporate Governance: An International Review (ABDC-A), Journal of Management Control (ABDC-A), Business Strategy and the Environment (ABDC-A), Meditari Accountancy Research (ABDC-A), Journal of Knowledge Management (ABDC-A), International Journal of Bank Marketing (ABDC-A), Journal of Intellectual Capital, among others. Kaveh has 10 joint publications with the world's most cited scholar in the field of intellectual capital who is based at McMaster University in Canada. Kaveh has won the prestigious Emerald Literati Award (Emerald's Awards for Excellence - 2019 Outstanding Papers) for his article “Intellectual capital and performance measurement systems in Iran”.

Kaveh served as the guest lecturer in FinTech, as part of the University of Glasgow-University of Malaya Collaboration program in early 2021.
