Dr. Farhad Ahmed has joined Monash University Malaysia in 2017 as a Lecturer within the Monash School of Business. He has received B.Comm (honours), and M.Comm degrees in Management from National University Bangladesh, and an MBA degree in International Business from Dublin Business School Ireland. Dr. Farhad has obtained his Ph.D degree from the University of Dublin (Trinity College Ireland) with a specialization in International Business. His record of academic achievement was recognized by the Trinity Business School with the award of a postgraduate studentship over all other nominations of their full-time Ph.D students in 2011. This is a highly competitive and prestigious award within the Trinity Business School. Prior to his current position at Monash, he has taught undergraduate and postgraduate level courses in Business at the University of Dublin and American College Dublin. Dr. Farhad presented a number of research papers in several reputable international conferences including ‘European International Business Academy Conference’, ‘Irish Academy of Management Conference’’ and ‘Academy of International Business UK-Ireland Chapter Doctoral Colloquium’. Of the ten selected research proposals by the ‘4th European Cooperation in Science & Technology (E-COST) and European International Business Academy Doctoral Think Tank 2013’ committee from among PhD students across Europe, his research proposal was one of them and was selected as the 2nd best proposal. His primary research interests are in the field of international business, entrepreneurship and strategic management. Of the presented conference papers, two papers are under review by ABS ranked top-tier journals. His teaching interest includes the internationalization process of firms, international entrepreneurship, born global/international new ventures, exports and imports, and institutional environments of developing countries and their effect on firms’ early/rapid internationalization.
