CEIC has built a reputable database, with high data accuracy, timeliness and comprehensiveness, and is used by financial institutions, government agencies, universities and corporations across the globe. CEIC’s Global database contains over 2.8million data series with quick country reference on key indicators, detailed & hard-to-find information over 18 macroeconomic and 14 industrial sectors. Datastream  Provides key data sets from both developed and emerging markets - equities, market indices, company accounts, macroeconomics, bonds, foreign exchange, interest rates, commodities and derivatives.

Equity prices, volumes, market capitalisation, earnings and dividend data for around 50,000 equities covering 64 developed and emerging markets with over 25 years of history for key developed markets - global equity indices covering 38 markets, 16 regions, 127 sectors spanning over 25 years of history - extensive worldwide unit trust pricing and dividend coverage for 11 countries, including over 10,000 UK trusts - over 200,000 international macroeconomic time series available with indicators for around 175 countries sourced from central banks - foreign exchange rates for over 63 currencies - over 2,000 interest rates - over 200,000 bonds from 32 markets - 19,000 warrants from over 50 markets – commodities covering 1,500 spot prices and major indices.

The School subscribed to the Datastream Advance, IBES and Thomson ONE.com Investment Banking database on 29 November 2010 primarily to be used by staff and research students for research. In the year 2016, the School has terminated Thomson ONE.com Investment Banking due to low usage.  Hence, the new subscription agreement was signed on 2 December 2016.   In the year 2018, existing subscription Datastream Premium (x1) and Datastream IBES Current Contended (x1) have been migrated to Eikon for Students with Datastream for Office (x2 licenses) at the same 2017 subscription price of our existing service.  As such, the Order Form for the removal of existing service, and to replace with the new service (Eikon for Students with Datastream for Office) was signed on 1 February 2018.

Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) Description:

Wharton Research Data Services, or WRDS, is an Internet-based business data research service from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Developed in 1993 to support faculty research at Wharton, the service has since evolved to become a common tool for research for over 190 institutions around the world.

WRDS annual subscription and license includes the data management and research tools provided with the WRDS Research Platform, including several databases that are provided free of charge to the subscribers as listed below.  It also includes SAS Studio and the WRDS Classroom tools and Analytics for our researchers and instructors.  Finally, the WRDS subscription also included PhD and data specialist support for our faculty and students.

Please take note that WRDS is a platform to access different databases listed below.  However, we have to pay WRDS for the platform and database vendors listed below separately.
