2020 Inspiring Entrepreneur Speaker Series (Suzanne Ling)

Suzanne shared insights to her background and experiences that inspired her and her co-founders to start PichaEats (formerly known as The Picha Project), an enterprise that serves delicious international cuisine cooked by chefs from refugee families in Malaysia, but also with a social initiative to provide the chefs and their families financial independence to support their children and to give them an education.

Students and staff were inspired and deeply moved by Suzanne and her co-founders’ passion to help and empower the refugee families, hiring the chefs, training them to become professional chefs and partnering with them to develop new menus for the business.

The co-founder of PichaEats challenged the students to take action to achieve their dreams, to recognise the importance of the little things, to keep being hungry to learn, and to make a change in the lives of others.

At the end of the 60 minutes online session, Suzanne left students with this thought-provoking question: “How can you be you, and make a change?”
