Supporting the School of Business BEW3100 Work Placement Program and BEW3110 Industry Placement Unit, eiHub developed an online self-learning module on Basics of Design Thinking to create an awareness in the students on the concepts and models of Design Thinking.

The aim of the program was to expose participants to essential topics relating to entrepreneurship. The session saw a turnout of 33 students from various faculties and disciplines, who had the opportunity to enhance their knowledge on the basics of entrepreneurship, explore the venture-building journey and delve deeper into the role of entrepreneurship and innovation.

As part of initiatives to inculcate an entrepreneurial spirit and mindset culture at Monash University Malaysia, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub (eiHub) recently launched its Entrepreneurial Skills Series. Made up of 5 Modules, this program was designed to offer students opportunities to enrich and expand their knowledge to entrepreneurial fundamentals within an experiential learning setting.

With the goal of developing an entrepreneurial mindset among Monash University Malaysia students, the Entrepreneurial Skills Series was recently launched on 28 April 2021. For its second module on validation, participants gained a basic understanding of the need, the significance and the fundamentals of undertaking validation in entrepreneurship.

The Entrepreneurial Skills Series was designed and developed with the objectives to inspire and foster an entrepreneurial mindset among our students and community at Monash University Malaysia. Presenting the program’s third module, “Prototyping”, participants were initiated to a basic understanding of the role and different approaches of prototyping in entrepreneurship.

In the program’s fourth module, “Pitching”, participants were introduced to a basic understanding of what makes a perfect pitch and the building blocks of pitch crafting in entrepreneurship. The pitch is an integral part of any entrepreneurial journey as it is typically the default way of engaging potential stakeholders.

The final module of the program on “Measuring Success”, covered topics on understanding the importance of the right business model, recognising the role and scope of business planning and identifying holistic tools to measuring success.
