Research Projects

Title: FE modelling of prestressed transfer plate –effect of staged construction

This study presented finite element modelling of post-tensioned concrete structures considering effects of staged concrete casting and stressing sequence. Multi-step static analysis was defined using finite element software Abaqus according to the sequence of concrete casting and stressing of prestressing stands to capture the lock-in stresses due to staged construction.

This modelling technique could simplify analysis process for structures with staged casting and sequenced stressing as it could predict the stress distribution accurately during various construction stages using single FE model.
