Research Interests
My primary research ambition is to remediate oil-contaminated soil using the flotation technology, and at the same time recover the oil for secondary purposes. This technology can be used not only for remedial purposes but also in the Enhanced Oil Recovery technology in the Oil and Gas industries. The flotation technology can also be applied in various other industries include wastewater treatment, mineral extraction and paper recycling/de-inking. Fundamental studies of solid-liquid separations followed by bubble-particle attachments overarch the successful implementation of the flotation technology.
Research Projects
Title: Novel Synthesis of Graphene Oxide-Coated Microbubbles for the Removal of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) from Aqueous Solutions
This project aims to synthesise graphene oxide coated microbubbles to enhance the flotation technology which is used to remove Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) pollutants from aqueous solutions including wastewater. The successful synthesis of this will lead to possibilities of graphene-coated microbubbles for various future applications including targeted delivery in medicinal fields as well as heat transfer industries.
