Chern Hong Lim is a lecturer attached to the School of Information Technology at Monash University Malaysia. He received his Ph.D. and B.Sc. (Hons) degrees in computer science, majoring in Artificial Intelligence from University of Malaya, in 2015 and 2010 respectively. Previously, he worked as a senior lecturer in Tunku Abdul Rahman University College from 2016 to 2018, and a senior associate researcher in Telekom Research & Development Sdn Bhd from 2014 to 2015. He is an active member and a committee in IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Malaysia Chapter. His research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, image processing, and fuzzy logic; with focus on image or video content analysis and human motion inference.
He previously held appointments in the University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth, U.K., as a visiting researcher working in computer vision domain. He had several papers published in well-known journals such as IEEE Transaction, Elservier, and Springer. Nonetheless, he had presented in a few notable international conferences such as IEEE FUZZ, WCCI, APSIPA ASC, KES, and IWACII. He served as an organizing committee of APSIPA 2017, MIWAI 2017, and ACPR 2015. He has also served as peer reviewer for numerous journals and conferences. Apart from that, he was the judge for AI and Big Data Hackathon, Malaysia FIRST Lego League and Innovate Malaysia Design Competition.
