BRIMS offers Higher Degree by Research that leads to a Master or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of Neuroscience. Candidates who wish to apply for this program must be able to work independently and the study is supervised by at least two supervisors.

Bachelor in Biomedical Science (Honours)
The honours degree of Bachelor of Medical Science provides medical students with an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of research in biomedical science and clinical disciplines. Students will be exposed to various technology and research methodologies selected from a wide range of clinical laboratory settings. BRIMS is well known for its dynamic research environment and is proud to be one of the service providers in this program.
Honours Year Program
Since 2008, BRIMS has supervised students for their Honours degree. The program is open to candidates who have completed a Bachelor of Science or equivalent with at least a distinction grade average (70%). For more details about the program, please look into Honours Admission Requirements.
Young Scholar Program
A new internship program for pre-Monash medical students has been introduced by the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences. The four-month Young Scholars Program (YSP) offers unique experiences to select few of the most outstanding Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (BMedSci/MD) applicants to the Sunway Campus, where they have the opportunity to be involved in some of the School’s major research projects.
BRIMS offers a wide range of opportunities for students to gain insight in the field of neuroscience. The duration of internships is between 4 weeks to 3 months and it may be extended on a case-to-case basis. BRIMS internships are not paid and all costs of travel and accommodation are the responsibility of the intern candidate.
Who can apply for the internship program at BRIMS?
- Exchange students from any local or international universities which could be a part of the thesis, whether it is to complete a full project or to spend a minimum of six months
- High school student/A-Level students who have been exposed to biology and chemistry subjects
