Research at JCSMHS

Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine & Health Sciences (JCSMHS) prides itself for being part of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences of Monash University, one of the leading research-intensive universities in Australia and world-wide. The research activities happening at the School are building a vibrant research and enterprise culture which enhances teaching and learning, benefits the community, and enriches the creativity and innovation of its staff. 

The Research Strategy at the JCSMHS aims to establish and sustain a research culture that fosters collaboration, mentoring and the production of high quality research which contributes to the disciplines of Medicine, Health and the Biological Sciences, with the goal of improving the health and well-being of individuals, populations and society.  The core initiatives include:

  • Supporting research activities of research active staff
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to junior researchers
  • Providing opportunities for students to engage in research
  • Encouraging research-led teaching and innovation

The school also places great emphasis on building and strengthening partnerships with the government, other universities, various professional institutions and companies from the industry to uphold the culture of excellence, collaboration and accountability.
