Profile Summary
Dr Amreeta Dhanoa obtained her MBBS from the University of Malaya in 1994. She completed her Masters in Pathology (sub specialized in Medical Microbiology) in 2001. She was the recipient of the 2001 gold medal for the best postgraduate student in Masters of Pathology (Microbiology), Conjoint UM/UKM exam. Following her post-graduation, she served Penang General Hospital as the Consultant Medical Microbiologist until 2006. She headed the Microbiology Division and was actively involved in conducting surveillance of multi-drug resistant organisms, antibiotic usage, prevalence surveillance for hospital-acquired infections and various other infection control activities. She joined Monash University Malaysia as a lecturer on 1st September 2006 and is involved in Year 1 and 2 teaching.
