Dr Ibrahim Ab Aziz is Senior Lecturer in Family Medicine at Clinical School Johor Bahru, Monash University Malaysia. Dr Ibrahim first joined Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine & Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia in June 2009 as a fractional lecturer in family medicine. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Dhaka in 1985. He obtained a Diploma in Clinical Counselling from the Institute of Counselling, Glasgow in 1998, the Master of Medicine and the Postgraduate Diploma in Medicine (Palliative Care) from Edith Cowan University Western Australia in January 2005. He worked with the Ministry of Health Malaysia since 1986 and in 1994, he opted out to be in private practice. He has a special interest in palliative medicine and is actively involved in teaching medical students and hospice volunteers. Besides running out-patient clinics and in-patient hospice at affiliated nursing homes, Dr Ibrahim also provides palliative home care to patients with cancer and other terminal illness. He is a member of the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network.
