Profile Summary

Dr Kyi Kyi Tha joined the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine & Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia on 8th February 2011 as a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology, Department of Biomedical Sciences. She graduated with M.B.,B.S. from University of Medicine (2) Yangon, Myanmar in 1990. After completion of one year internship, she started with clinical research by joining as a Research officer in Clinical Research Unit Malaria, Defence Services General Hospital Yangon, Myanmar for one year. She was appointed as a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology, University of Medicine (2) Yangon, Myanmar from 1992 to 1997. In 1997, she was awarded the Japanese Government Scholarship for Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the Graduate school of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Hokkaido University, Japan. Upon completion of her Ph.D in 2001, she continued serving as a senior lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology, University of Medicine (1) Yangon, Myanmar until 2003. She practiced as a Consultant Pharmacologist providing basic training and scientific expertise in pharmaceutical sciences. Her previous appointment prior to Monash University was as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Basic Medical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, International Islamic University Malaysia, Kuantan Campus from 2005 to 2010.
