Dr Mageswary Sivalingam joined Monash University Malaysia as an assistant lecturer in June 2019. She completed her PhD in Neuroscience from Monash University and during her PhD, she studied on the mechanism of a neuropeptide in facilitating morphine mediated impairment of fear memory consolidation using Zebrafish. Prior to her PhD she was involve in various research projects in the field neuroscience using fish as a research model employing morphology techniques. She received her MSc from University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2012 and BSc (Hons) from University Science Malaysia (USM) in 2005. Her academic qualifications and training are in neuroscience, molecular biology and molecular morphology. Her research interests involve negative emotion and related psychiatric disorder such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and it’s associated neurodegenerative disease.
