Profile Summary

Dr Narendra Pamidi is a senior lecturer at Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia, specialsing in anatomy, diabetes, and neuroscience. Dr Narendra completed his Master of Medical Anatomy (Kasturba Medical College) and PhD in Diabetes and Neuroscience from Manipal University. Dr Narendra also has broad range of teaching and research experience as Assistant Professor in various medical schools in India (KMC & MMMC: Manipal). He taught clinically oriented anatomy for MBBS, BDS, Allied Health, Biomedical and Nursing courses. He has joined Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences (JSCMHS) in 2013. He has received the TJPS College Topper Award and Certificate for excellent academic performance in his undergraduate studies (1999). His passion and interest in anatomy education and research was recognized with an “Annual best audio-visual award” (2009) and several ‘Research Incentive Awards’ and consistently ranked under the ‘Best teachers’ category. He is an invited external examiner for various medical schools. Dr Narendra consistently secures outstanding Students Evaluation of Teaching Units (SETU: 4.94 out of 5) in JSCMHS, Monash University Malaysia.

Dr Narendra has published more than 50 research papers, case series and case reports in various peer-reviewed journals in the areas of diabetes, neuroscience and variant anatomy of the human body. He is an editorial board member and reviewer for several medical journals. Dr Narendra is successful in securing various internal and external research grants (FRGS) in the research areas of diabetes & neuroscience. He has supervised several medical research projects and his students secured first places in various presentations. He is currently studying on the therapeutic use of environmental enrichment exposure on diabetic and stressed brain.

  • Completed Ph.D. in the fields of ‘neuroscience, anatomy and diabetes’ with the title “Effects of Diabetes and Chronic Restraint Stress on Rat Brain Morphology: Treatment with Environmental Enrichment”.
  • Published research articles and case reports related to variant anatomy of the human body, education, neuroscience and diabetes in reputed national and international indexed journals.
  • Doing research in the areas of medical education, variant anatomy of the human body, diabetes, obesity and neuroscience.

  • Usage of various behavioral models in experimental animals (Water maze, T maze, Radial arm maze, Passive avoidance).
  • Expertise in estimating various biochemical markers and blood parameters (Oxidative stress, metabolic, stress, BDNF)
