Associate Professor Shamsul Haque is a cognitive psychologist with extensive teaching and research experience. He has published his works in various local and international peer-reviewed journals and edited books. His current research interests focus on the retrieval processes of autobiographical memory, cognitive impairments following sleep deprivation, cognitive determinants of self-harm, false memory, construction of autobiographical memory in psychiatric patients, cultural influences in autobiographical recollection, and the neuropsychology of autobiographical memory.

  • Reviewed Master of Science in Psychology programme offered by the School of Psychology at Nottingham University Malaysia Campus in 2016. It was an Internal Quality Assurance exercise organized by the Faculty of Science.
  • Examined the Bachelor of Psychological Science and Business course at Monash University Malaysia as the Chairperson of the internal review panel on 28 June 2012.
  • Examined the Master of Biomedical Science at Monash University Malaysia as a member of the internal review panel on 16 July 2012.

Course Development and Accreditations

Played a key role in securing full accreditations from APAC (Australian Psychology Accreditation Council) for all psychology courses offered at Monash University Malaysia.

Made major contribution to ensure the Psychology Honours Programs offered at Monash University Malaysia are approved by the PsyBA (Psychology Board of Australia) as qualifications for the purpose of registration.

Instrumental to obtain accreditations from MQA (Malaysian Qualifications Agency) for all psychology courses at Monash University Malaysia.

Developed Master of Professional Counselling programme for Monash University Malaysia – launched in 2016. This course has already been fully accredited by Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). The course has been submitted for accreditation from Counsellors Board of Malaysia as well (LKM)
