Welcome to Monash University Malaysia Library!

Welcome

Whether you are a returning student or new to Monash, I wish you a very warm welcome!
In light of COVID19 developments and Malaysia’s Movement Control Order, both Library & Learning Commons and Clinical School Library will remain closed until further notice. Nonetheless we have aligned the library resources, programs and services to cater for the needs of students and staff in the most effective manner, and to limit disruptions as the campus goes fully online.

Library orientation
We have repackaged O-Week to provide a full orientation experience online. The Library orientation pages are uploaded on Let’s Begin. You will find key online resources to help you familiarise with the library facilities, resources and services. Feel free to watch them at your own time and pace.

Holds and loans
To give staff and students equitable access to Library resources in light of COVID19, all current loans (except short term loans and titles on hold) will be extended to 6 April 2020. Any item due during this period will not incur any fines.
Please check your MyLoans account for information on loans and holds.

New "Search" box
Following in Monash Australia Library’s footsteps, we have redesigned and repositioned the  "Search" box , prominently placing it on the first page, to improve your search experience.

Get started with academic assignments
Liaison Librarians and Learning Skills Advisers are available to assist with your academic assignments. You can meet virtually with them through Zoom meetings by making an early appointment.
Check the Research and Learning page to identify your School Liaison or Learning Skills Advisers.
If you are a postgraduate student, check the Researchers and Graduates section to learn how we can assist you with your research.

Library Space Transformation
During the long summer break, we worked hard with Facilities Management to improve the library learning spaces. You will be able to experience them when the campus re-opens its doors:

  • We expanded the Quiet Zone, bringing its seating capacity to 290 seats;
  • We completed the renovation of the Library Training Room, which does offer a fresh look, with a completely revamped design and the latest acoustics and AV standards, to better support active and group learning.

Finally, as we are set to scale up our online offerings for Semester 1, I encourage you to check the Library’s People. Places. Services.

Best wishes for the semester ahead!

Regards,

Isabelle Eula
Director, Library and Learning Commons
