LLC Campaign “Park Yourself, Not Your Bags”
In yet another attempt to curb its never ending seat hogging issue, which prevents a growing number of students finding a seat to study in the Library and Learning Commons, the Monash Malaysia Library will be launching a new campaign called “Park Yourself, Not Your Bags” on Monday 29 May 2017, to coincide with the start of the SWOT-examination period.
The campaign will be promoted across campus through print and digital communication, including social media, for the duration of the SWOT-examination period, starting on 29 May 2017.
During peak times, the Library staff will place a “Parking ticket” on any desk where belongings have been left unattended for more than 30 minutes. This is to encourage students to give other peers a fair chance to study in the Library
It goes without saying that this Library initiative can only succeed with MUSA’s involvement and with the cooperation of all students in playing their part throughout the academic year, by saying “NO” to seat hogging and by building a sense of collective responsibility among peers.
When benchmarked against MUA’s Matheson Library, LLC is on par, with a capacity of 1174 seats, representing ratio of 1 seat to 6.60 students (1:7 at MUAL).
