Welcome to the Library, Semester 2
Whether you are returning after the semester break or new to Monash Malaysia, I wish to extend my warm welcome to the Library and Learning Commons.
During the semester break, the transformation of the Library continued at a steady pace with the redesign and renovation of the Quiet Zone at Level 2. When the project is completed early August, it will bring to 1,200 the number of seats available in the Library. We are also working with Facilities Management to revamp the library signage in view to enhance zoning and facilitating traffic.
As we are constantly trying to improve the Library, we are interested to know what your views are on the Library campaign “Park Yourself, Not Your Bags” which took place last May. A library survey will be disseminated on 7 August 2017 inviting all undergraduate students to respond to 10 short questions. Stay tuned!
On the library service front, the team of librarians located at service points (levels1 and 3) are ready to provide general assistance and reference services. Do feel comfortable to approach us if you need help in locating print or online e-resources, or if you simply wish to learn about our services.
The School Liaisons and Learning Skills Advisers are available by appointment to help you define your research topic, find relevant academic sources, write quality academic papers or hone effective study skills. They work closely with academic staff to develop embedded research and learning skills programs which will equip you with the skills needed to succeed academically. Check the library website to locate your School Liaison or Learning Skills Advisers.
I invite you to visit the Library and Learning Commons - in person or virtually- , to browse its collections, experience its learning spaces, and to learn more on how we can facilitate your academic journey.
Best wishes for the semester ahead!
