Cathrine Harboe-Ree’s talk on “Research Infrastructure”

Cathrine Harboe-ReeOn 11 May 2016, the Library and Learning Commons, in collaboration with Campus Research Management, sponsored and organised a talk by Cathrine Harboe-Ree, University Librarian at Monash University Australia on “Research Engagement'. The talk covered a variety of ways in which the Library engages with researchers across the University, as well as discussed some tools designed to enable researchers to store, share, manage and publish their research data.

Speaker’s Profile

Ms Cathrine Harboe-Ree has been the University Librarian at Monash University since 2002. She is the immediate past president of the Council of Australian University Librarians (2009 - present) and a member of the Australian National Data Service (ANDS) Steering Committee, representing Monash University, which is the lead agency. She has formerly been a member of the joint ministerial Australian eResearch Coordinating Committee and of the Australian eResearch Infrastructure Council (AeRIC) and was the Chair of the Commonwealth Government funded institutional repository project, ARROW, from its inception to its completion (2002-2008). She has established and supervised the growth of Monash University Publishing, an innovative open access electronic press, leads university-wide research data management policy, planning and coordination and oversees the transformation of the Library’s physical facilities and contribution to learning and teaching, with an emphasis on e-learning and research skill development. Cathrine is a frequent presenter, particularly on the topics of research data management and the future of libraries.
