Enhancing the student experience

Campus masterplan

Dear Library users:

As part of the Campus Master Plan (Stage 1, Phase 1) set to commence on 28 June 2017, intensive hacking, drilling and piling works will take place above the Library for approximately 3 weeks to make way for the new Campus Informal Learning Space, including the demolition of the existing Multi-Faith Centre and covered walkway at Level 4.

As a result;

  • Level 3 (including LLC expansion, Create and Engage rooms) will be closed from 25 June to 21 July 2017 to facilitate the works and to mitigate risk in and around the Library.
  • All Reserve and self-check transactions will be re-directed to the Information Services Counter, Level 1.
  • The “24/7 Book Return” located outside the Library opposite the cafeteria will be disabled for safety reasons from 25 June to December 2017, or until further notice.
    Please return all library materials to the Information Services counter, Level 1.
  • The heavy construction works should be completed before the start of Semester 2, 2017.

In parallel, the Library will be pursuing the transformation of the Quiet Zone (Level 2) by re-purposing existing study spaces to increase individual seating capacity.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Thamarai Rathenam, Information Services Manager at thamarai.rajah@monash.edu

Until you can see and experience the next phase of transformation of the campus and library spaces, I thank you for your patience and understanding.

Warm regards,

Isabelle Eula
