Together, we are stronger

Business graduates launch inaugural alumni chapter.

The launch of the Monash Malaysia Business Alumni Chapter (MMBAC) has received the proactive support of our business graduates, many of whom are now climbing the ladder of success in their respective work industry.

The chapter was formed by the alumni, for the alumni, under the leadership of the MMBAC president Wilbur Chin, a Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Marketing, Banking and Finance) graduate.

Apart from aiming to become a platform of networking value for Monash University Malaysia business graduates, the MMBAC also seeks to provide professional development opportunities, as well as to promote the Monash spirit of impacting our community, to its members.

“A group of passionate alumni has been working together on this chapter for almost a year now.

“Seeing the good turnout today– we know we are on the verge of something great,” Wilbur said to his fellow alumni at the MMBAC launch, where guests had packed the School of Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) lounge for the Aug 20 event.

Among the first programs on the line-up for MMBAC is its Speaker Series, aimed at providing an engaging discourse on topics of interest relevant to business professionals.

The first speaker in the line-up is, in fact, a Monash alumni.

“I am so proud of Monash, I have got all my three nephews to (enrol) in Monash,” said Tian-Pouw Pun, principal at Korn Ferry Malaysia, the branch of a global executive talent search company.

Mr Pun, who graduated from the Clayton campus with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1989, is slated to deliver an address entitled “Take Charge of Your Career” at the MMBAC Speaker Series next month.

Professor John Benson, head of the School of Business, expressed great confidence in the School’s alumni and the value that they would add to one another through the alumni chapter.

“Monash in an ambitious university and our business programs are accredited by all the major bodies in the world.

We have our eyes set on global excellence and nothing short of that.

“MMBAC is chapter run by the alumni and we look forward to having our alumni get involve, and to grow and network,” Prof Benson said. To join the MMBAC, visit the Facebook page on<
