Building a more vibrant campus

Monash University Malaysia is investing in the future,  building new spaces for informal learning, student collaboration and research innovation.

"Higher education is a dynamic sector and we need to keep investing to provide students with a world class student experience" shared Professor Andrew Walker, President and Pro Vice-Chancellor. "As a vibrant urban campus Monash Malaysia is ideally placed to promote creativity and innovation. We want to build new learning spaces where students are actively engaged in problem solving. We also need to create more informal spaces where students and researchers can exchange ideas and share experiences."

The first phase of  the new Campus Masterplan will see the expansion and development of a large informal learning space situated above the library. There will also be a 3-tier link deck between buildings 5 and 6. This phase of development will be completed by the end of 2017, in time to welcome students for Semester 1, 2018.

There may be some disruption as building works proceed over the coming months. But, as Professor Walker said at a recent staff forum "that noise is the sound of growth and success." So, please bear with us while we create a better campus.
