Monash University Malaysia and Perkin Elmer sign MoU to develop a Centre of Excellence for Analytical Instrumentation
In line with Monash University Malaysia’s research and development (R&D) focus, the School of Science and Perkin Elmer Sdn Bhd will work together to develop a Centre of Excellence for Analytical Instrumentation.
Professor Steven Langford, Head of School of Science at Monash Malaysia, said the agreement demonstrated the University’s importance as a hub for collaboration: “This is a significant day for the School of Science. It has taken us nearly two years to get to this point. The idea of this is that Monash University Malaysia, through the School of Science, will allow students to gain global competitiveness, to publish in high-ranking journals using significant scientific equipments and to assist Perkin Elmer in solving global problems.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Tan Tee Peng, South Pacific Regional Manager of Perkin Elmer, shared that the partnership is of great importance as it aims to make new discoveries and to be able to commercialise outcomes from the new findings.
The MoU was signed by Professor Mahendhiran Nair, Vice President (Research and Development) and Tan Tee Peng, South Pacific Regional Manager, Perkin Elmer Sdn Bhd.
