Monash University Malaysia is proud to announce that the University has been rated as an Outstanding (6-Star) university in the latest Malaysia Rating for University and University College Excellence SETARA-2017, conducted by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia (MOHE).

"Our 6-star SETARA rating is recognition of our outstanding teaching and research performance. Students studying at Monash University Malaysia receive a world-class Australian degree while studying in a dynamic and innovative Malaysian environment. As we move into our twentieth year of operation in Malaysia,  we are proud to be placed in the very top cohort of Malaysian universities," said Professor Andrew Walker, President and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Interim) of Monash Malaysia.

SETARA-2017 is an institutional rating using an integrated instrument which has been aligned with the Malaysian Education Blueprint (Higher Education) 2015-2025. This year, 71 higher learning institutions participated in the exercise.

It focuses on institutional excellence for Higher Learning Institutions (HLIs) to build strong fundamentals to deliver on three core functions:

(i) Teaching and Learning;

(ii) Research and Innovation; and

(iii) Services to Community and Industry.

The exercise classifies its ratings into six Tiers, ranging from Tier 1 as poor to Tier 6 as outstanding.
