Oil palm is one of the major contributors to the GDP of the agriculture sector in Malaysia. Palm oil, derived from the fruit of the plant, is a versatile raw material which finds use in various downstream products, especially in food, personal care products, biodiesel and pharmaceutical industries. The widespread use makes this commodity extremely valuable to the socio-economic growth of Malaysia. Hence, proper management and measures have to be in place to ensure its sustainability.

This seminar features renowned speakers from various fields to discuss the health benefits of palm oil, its use in food, as well as to address the issues around the sustainability of the industry.

This event is jointly organised by Monash University Malaysia and Malaysian Palm Oil Council.
