Dr. Alice Chuah is a senior lecturer in the School of Pharmacy. She is a registered pharmacist in Malaysia, and has had experience working in hospital and community pharmacies. During her PhD studies, she was awarded the World Federation of Scientist (WFS) Scholarships for two consecutive years. She also received the Malaysia National Cancer Council (MAKNA) Cancer Research Award in 2009. Her research focusses on novel drug delivery systems, especially nanomedicine. She also has interests in the health, water literacy and water education of rural communities.

Research Interest

Dr Alice Chuah has strong interests in the development of various drug delivery systems, including nanoparticles, hydrogels and membranes. These are designed to improve the delivery of drugs and natural compounds. Concerned with the health and well being of the rural communities, she has also extended her research to develop water filtration membranes to provide sustainable clean drinking water to the rural communities.
