Dr. Thet graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) in 1999 from the University of Wales in Cardiff, United Kingdom. She then underwent her pre-registration training at West Wales General Hospital in Carmarthen, Wales and subsequently passed the board examinations in 2000, gaining registration with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB). She then went on to pursue her doctorate in Medicinal Chemistry (Antiviral drug design), also at the University of Wales in Cardiff, which she completed in early 2004. During that same time, as part of her continuing professional development, Dr. Thet also served as a community pharmacist on a sessional basis in several pharmacies in the United Kingdom from 2000 – 2003. Soon after completing her PhD, she was appointed an academic lecturer in medicinal chemistry and a school representative in research at the School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medical Sciences, UCSI University, Malaysia, where she served for almost 5 years. Dr.Thet joined Monash University, Malaysia in March 2009.
