Prof Lee was Professor and Associate Director of External Affairs of the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s School of Pharmacy of which he was a founding member before he moved to Malaysia.

His concurrent academic appointments include Adjunct Professor of the CUHK School of Pharmacy, Honorary Professor of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong, and Visiting Professor of the University of London School of Pharmacy, UK (2008-2011). Professor Lee has also maintained very close links with academic institutions in Mainland China for many years and has served as visiting scholar at a number of universities there.

He was appointed by the Government of Hong Kong as a Justice of the Peace in 2003 for his outstanding community services. He has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals. Health economics/pharmacoeconomics - measurement and valuation of health, including preference-based generic instruments and discrete choice experiments as well as the analysis of patient level data and decision-analytic modelling. Professor Kenneth also focusses on a critical examination of the validity of such evaluations in the global context generally and in emerging economies in particular. While continuing to contribute to and promote model investigations into the cost-efficiency and outcomes of new interventions, his research is now increasingly moving towards robust large studies that will offer planners and policy makers a far less speculative lever for making important broad decisions on health care.
