Learning spaces
Virtual practice environment (VPE)Small group, high tech virtual practice environments (VPE) replace the traditional and out-dated model pharmacy. Through the safe and supervised VPE environment, students are exposed to processes encountered in practical placements, greatly enhancing their confidence, knowledge and skills before entering into the community as student pharmacists.
The VPE technology can be readily adapted to reflect changes in both professional practice and physical environments. Work on the first community pharmacy setting is complete, with action underway to establish other practice and industry settings to be integrated into an authentic situation.
Professional practice suite (PPS)Pharmacy students will be amongst the first to use a new cutting-edge learning space, and experience new formats of teaching and practice in a virtual environment. The new Professional Practice Suite (PPS) is the first of its kind in Malaysia, with two large, flexible tutorial rooms each with individual computer facilities that can accommodate up to 25 students; eight consultation rooms for professional consultation and assessment; and a social learning space for informal work groups. The PPS is the latest addition to the School's list of learning spaces.
