3MT: Congratulations to Allah Bukhsh

People's Choice Award and First Runner-up Award Winner: Allah Bukhsh

The Three Minute Thesis competition or 3MT®, is an annual competition held in over 200 universities worldwide. It is open to PhD students, and challenges participants to present their research in just 180 seconds, in an engaging form that can be understood by an intelligent audience with no background in the research area. This exercise develops presentation, research and academic communication skills and supports the development of research students' capacity to explain their work effectively.

Congratulations to Mr. Allah Bukhsh from the School of Pharmacy for winning the People's Choice Award and First Runner-up Award in the 3MT Competition during the Monash Malaysia campus round held in May 2019.

The title of his 3MT® presentation was “DIABETES self-care education – a target to disarm the silent killer?” His PhD research is about exploring the impact of pharmacist-led self-care educational interventions on clinical outcomes of people with diabetes.
Allah Bukhsh will move into the Wildcard round at Monash Clayton campus in July 2019.

This year’s panel of judges for the Monash University Malaysia campus round included Professor Mahendhiran Sanggaran Nair, Vice President (Research and Development) Monash University Malaysia; Miss Namita Santra, Senior Manager, Research and Learning, Library and Learning Commons, Monash University Malaysia; and Dr. Daniel Tan, Chief Information Officer, Acer Malaysia.
